“Mrs. Petrone played a crucial role in my college journey, guiding me through ACT preparation and crafting impactful college essays. Her dedication and expertise were essential in securing acceptances to several institutions, including the University of Connecticut, Penn State, UMass Amherst, Brandeis, Binghamton, and ultimately Rutgers University, where I found my perfect fit.

From the start, Mrs. Petrone's commitment to my success was apparent. She tailored ACT sessions to my strengths, laying a solid foundation for the college application process. Transitioning to essay guidance, her insight transformed my experiences into compelling narratives that resonated with admissions committees.

Beyond advising, Mrs. Petrone provided unwavering support, fueling my determination and resilience. Her belief in my abilities was a constant inspiration, guiding me through uncertainty. As I begin my journey at Rutgers, I am immensely grateful for Mrs. Petrone's mentorship, and support, which has shaped my academic path in profound ways. She is more than an educator; she is a true source of support, and I am fortunate to have had her guidance.”

“I met Alyssa for the first time when I was in high school back in 2014. A friend of mine recommended her for SAT prep and I couldn’t be more grateful. I was always one who struggled with standardized exams, but Alyssa helped me get the SAT score I needed to land my dream college - NYU. She also helped me craft the most perfect personal statement that allowed me to stand out amongst others. Therefore, it was a no brainer to reach out for more help when it came time to write my personal statement for medical school. She is truly gifted with words and has a way to perfectly transform a bunch of thoughts and ideas into a compelling essay and story. Fast forward 4 years, and here I am today matching into my dream residency…pediatrics. Yet again Alyssa helped me craft the most perfect personal statement that conveyed my desire to become a pediatrician. I highly recommend Alyssa for any one of her services! She will not disappoint!”

Alyssa worked with our son Alexander on his SAT preparation for several years and is now helping our younger son Andrew.  Alyssa has really done wonderful things for both of our sons.  Of course, our sons are the ones who take the SAT, but Alyssa’s process and approach to test prep encourages students to dissect their results and strive to improve.  Alyssa was and is indispensable in convincing my children to keep calm about things and maintain a rational outlook on the SAT in the face of all the usual pressures.  When Alexander’s scores did not immediately jump, he grew concerned, but Alyssa calmed him.  She had analyzed Alexander’s test results, pointed out the issues that were holding him back, and told him to keep at it and be patient. Alyssa’s advice and confidence enabled Alexander to stay focused, working, and in control,  so that, as he became more familiar with the exam, his scores skyrocketed.  Alyssa’s advice has always been right on point, and as Andrew starts his prep, we are welcome Alyssa’s steady guidance again.

I’ve known Alyssa for years. She helped me prepare for the verbal sections of my SATs when I was applying to undergraduate universities and she most recently supported me while writing Law School application essays. In both of these journeys, Alyssa’s help and feedback was absolutely indispensable. Her knowledge of higher ed admissions and her expertise as a writer/editor are priceless. With Alyssa’s help, I felt confident that my graduate school essays conveyed my feelings and ideas clearly, directly, and succinctly. At the end of my application cycle, I received acceptance letters from Georgetown Law Center, Northwestern Law, Duke Law, NYU Law, and Washington University in St Louis Law. I believe my strong essays were a key component in this hugely positive outcome, and I’m so grateful to Alyssa for all her help!

Alyssa Petrone is a game changer. It was so wonderful working with her, and I cannot recommend her enough. She helped me with both GRE prep and grad school essay advising. I saw a five point jump in my verbal GRE score after working with Alyssa, and also scored in the 98th percentile for writing. Her methodology is very easy to understand and implement. Her expertise was invaluable for application essay writing and she helped me tailor my writing pieces to impactfully tell my story. My strong GRE scores paired with my sharp essays were key reasons that I got into Columbia Business School. Alyssa also worked with both of my sisters for SAT prep in high school and helped them raise their SAT scores. I really wish that I had been able to work with her for my undergraduate application process – she truly is the best of the best!

The gratitude I have for Alyssa is something that is hard to put into words. When I first started tutoring for the ACT, I had horrible test anxiety, and also could not wrap my head around the idea of being able to do well on a standardized test. Alyssa’s tutoring style not only helped me reach my target score on the ACT, but the methods she taught me helped me in all aspects of school as well. She is kind, and caring and genuinely wants all of her students to succeed, stopping at nothing to do so. Not only is she a brilliant ACT tutor, but she also help me create some of the most amazing essays that I submitted to college. I was able to write about something I would never think of crafting into an essay, let alone it being one of the best essays I have ever written! With the help of Alyssa, I was accepted into my first choice college, The University of Maryland, which she knows has always been a dream of mine. Whenever any of my friends would say that they are struggling to write their common app, or that they aren’t getting anywhere with their current tutor, I immediately recommend Alyssa without even thinking, because I want everyone to have the same wonderful experience that I had with her. She truly is the best at what she does!

When I met Alyssa Petrone in the summer of 2017, I never anticipated she would have such a large impact on my life. I originally approached Alyssa to assist me with the English portion of the SAT. In addition to tailoring her instruction to my specific needs and learning style, Alyssa took the time to get to know me on a personal level. Alyssa cared to know how I felt and stopped me from getting down on myself when I didn’t score as high as I wanted to on a practice. During our sessions Alyssa was kind and patient, never stern. I don’t know how she does it, but Alyssa strikes the perfect balance between rigorous and encouraging, ultimately allowing me to produce SAT scores far above what I could have ever imagined.

I continued to work with Alyssa to help me brainstorm and edit my Common Application and supplemental essays. Once again, Alyssa maintained an infectious, positive attitude, encouraging my creativity and helping me to refine my essays in a genuine way that felt true to myself, my story, and my abilities.

Even this past summer, I remembered Alyssa’s techniques and strategies scored perfectly on the English section of my Dental Admission Test (DAT). Five years later, as I finish my Junior year of college, I have connected with Alyssa again to edit my Personal Statement for my Dental School applications.

Over the past five years, Alyssa has evolved from a teacher to a mentor and a close friend. She has seen me through my wins and losses, highs and lows, and has remained my number one supporter through it all. Alyssa is so much more than a fantastic tutor and an authentic essay editor, she is a friend who helped me to realize my own talents and confidence. I always look forward to catching up with her. I truly credit Alyssa with much of the professional success I’ve had, and I know our relationship will continue for years to come. There is no one better than her.

Alyssa was an invaluable resource as I wrote my essays for admission to business school. Whether brainstorming suitable topics, refining wording and grammar, or helping to put finishing touches on my work, she was there every step of the way. Her approach greatly simplified what had been a daunting process and allowed me to more effectively put my thoughts on the page. I am tremendously grateful for her insight, and strongly recommend her services for any students going through the rigorous graduate school admissions process

Mrs. Petrone is the reason I made my way through the college process so smoothly. Our journey together began the summer before my junior year. At our first meeting, I immediately knew we would make a great team. She was kind, she was intelligent, she was motivated, and she was motivating. She had faith that her skillset, knowledge, and sense of strategy would lead me to accomplish my testing goals. I trusted her (best decision I ever made), and I even looked forward to our weekly tutoring sessions because I always left her desk feeling better at the task and less anxious about the whole testing ordeal. All throughout junior year, I relied on Mrs. Petrone’s abundant resources and positive spirit to help me master the SAT and ACT. By my testing days, I felt more than prepared. She made conquering standardized tests a part of my DNA. The next summer, Mrs. Petrone and I switched gears and began focusing on my essays. She continued to bring out the best in me. We brainstormed essays ideas and built off of each other’s thoughts. When I would bring in a rough draft to her office, I would sit directly next to her and we would then edit the piece together. I am certain that watching Mrs. Petrone’s revision process made me a better writer. What always amazed me was that no essay topic or word limit stumps Mrs. Petrone. She is one of the most creative people I have ever met. To this day, I am in awe of how she does it all. She turned essays I liked into essays I absolutely LOVED. The essays we created together are some of my proudest work. Although I am extremely happy the college process is done for me, I am saddened by the fact I will not be working with Mrs. Petrone any time soon; she really is that good. Thank you, Mrs. Petrone. I am attending my dream college because of you!

It is rare to find someone who can turn an otherwise stressful situation into a therapeutic, positive, and developmental experience, but Alyssa Petrone is one of those people. I imagine that I speak for most high school juniors and seniors when I write that the SAT and ACT are indeed the sources of much of the anxiety we face during the college process; they are the vehicle of our possibilities in terms of higher education. This notion is intimidating, but luckily, Ms. Petrone is not. During my weekly sessions with Ms. Petrone, I was given valuable strategies and realistic simulations in preparation for my standardized tests, but I was also introduced to a friend whose knowledge and comfort with the college process helped ease my worries and cultivate a sense of confidence and eagerness in my search for potential schools. Her testing and writing methods are endorsed by myself and myriad others, but more importantly, her interest and care for each of her students allows her to expound upon the material and provide insightful advice on application essays and personal statements. I could not have been more satisfied with my standardized testing preparation, and thanks to Ms. Petrone, I will be attending Williams College in the fall of 2016. I highly recommend her services, whether they be standard SAT/ACT prep, or formal writing and application aid.

Alyssa was the best tutor I could have asked for. Junior year was extremely stressful, but my late appointments at her house were not dreaded at all. I knew I would be welcomed by a smiling face and the smell of one of Alyssa’s candles. The informal relationship Alyssa maintains with her students is perfect because us students don’t want to feel like we’re being lectured at and that our tutor is just another teacher. However, that’s not to say Alyssa didn’t teach me anything because of course she did. She taught me more than she had to, to be honest. I learned the tricks and well-studied techniques of the SAT, practiced ways to calm down when I got anxious, perfected my grammar, expanded my vocabulary and stopped making unwarranted assumptions. Most importantly, Alyssa made me see potential in even the smallest of ideas for essays. Most of my essays came from an idea that I originally thought was stupid, but Alyssa was that person who I could fall back on to show me that I could make a great essay out of the idea. Alyssa is truly an excellent mentor and a beautiful person inside and out.

Alyssa has a commitment to her student’s success that is unsurpassed. Not only did she explain the most difficult verbal problems during our sessions in a manner that was tailored to my learning style, she also guided me to vigorously and intentionally practice these concepts. Alyssa introduced the material in an individualized manner and used questioning techniques that allowed me to understand and answer a question conceptually. She coached me through the most difficult portions of the verbal section of the GMAT and maintained a wonderfully positive and inspiring energy throughout each session. A true professional, Alyssa loves what she does and her positive energy allowed me to be relaxed and engaged during our sessions, yielding results that matched my highest expectations. She equipped me with strategies and tools and guided my learning until I achieved a level of accuracy that surpassed the requirements of the MBA programs to which I was applying. Thanks to Alyssa, I will be able to apply to the most competitive MBA programs in the world.

It is difficult to sum up my feelings towards Mrs. Petrone in a brief paragraph and actually do her and her work justice. I am currently finishing up my senior year at Bucknell University with a double major in History and Political Science and looking back I can confidently say that Mrs. Petrone was a decisive and instrumental figure in my college application process. In our weekly tutoring sessions, Mrs. Petrone didn't drown me in crazy tactics, but rather provided simple, effective and applicable techniques that really stuck (5 years later and I still remember B211F). Her techniques didn't just help me to do better on the SATs, they helped me become a better test-taker in general. She becomes so invested in her students’ success and she works thoroughly, diligently and consistently to see that they reach the highest level they can personally achieve. She encouraged me to constantly improve my practice scores, and worked alongside me, problem by problem, sentence completion by sentence completion until I got there. It wasn't only her professionalism as a tutor that helped me excel, but it was also her guidance, optimism and encouragement as a mentor that instilled confidence in me that proved vital to my success. Coupled with the beginnings of a search for the right college, SAT season is an incredibly stressful, frustrating and demanding period in a student's life, but Mrs. Petrone is like a mental support system; she keeps the energy level up and your spirits high. She turns your mistakes into learning opportunities. For me, she turned a really difficult process into a manageable one, helped me exceed my own expectations, and for that, I am deeply grateful for the lasting impact she has had on my academic experience.

When applying to colleges in the fall of 2013, I was completely overwhelmed with the sheer number of essays I had to write — some schools asking for up to twelve short responses. However, working with Alyssa made it more than manageable and surprisingly, a lot of fun. Writing with Alyssa was far from a chore. Rather than approaching an essay as a requirement, she made sure we approached each prompt with creative energy and excitement. When asked to write 250 words on one of my quirks, Alyssa made sure I didn’t go for the most obvious response. Instead, she helped me compose a piece from the point of view of my red moleskin journal, chronicling all of the adventures it had with me. I was nervous that by working on my pieces with a professional, it would be difficult to let my voice come through my writing. Working with Alyssa, though, proved to be the exact opposite. She not only helped hone and enhance my writing, but also allowed and pushed for authenticity. With her, my personality and voice were able to shine in each essay we collaborated on. Alyssa knows how to cater to the college admissions process and she made sure I came out with products I was proud to submit. Without her help, I’m not sure I’d be studying at the University of Michigan, and for that, I am always grateful. Alyssa made writing enjoyable, and I highly recommend her essay preparation assistance to anyone beginning the college application process.

Alyssa has impacted me far more than just in the increase of my SAT scores. She established a comfortable environment in which I could share with her the latest news of my college recruiting process. I cannot begin to explain how much Alyssa helped me out with the process, constantly providing me with advice that had my best interest in mind. Alyssa's experience with the SAT was obvious as she showed me all of the tricks of the test and techniques for answering questions. All of these methods allowed me to be less overwhelmed by the test because I knew how to approach the prompts and questions. Alyssa explained questions to me and why a particular answer was correct, allowing me to alter my thought process next time I received a similar type of question. I am extremely grateful for this experience because of all the help that Alyssa provided me, not only with debunking the SAT, but also helping me get through one of the most stressful but important processes of my life, and I cannot continue to thank her enough for that.

There are some people in life who bring out the best in everyone. They continuously encourage, correctly advise and empathize with others. Alyssa Petrone is one of these people. I started going to Alyssa for SAT tutoring during my Junior year of high school, which then turned into ACT tutoring, which then turned into college advising sessions. Yes, Alyssa was the reason my SAT and ACT scores were so high, but my main benefit from having her as my, now, “life advisor” was the strong relationship we built. I’m not exaggerating when I say I went to Alyssa for everything related to college. My parents have always been supportive, but Alyssa was a neutral party who listened to my ideas and gave me honest advice. She revised my common application essay and every single supplement, and I had well over thirty. Alyssa was the first person I called when I had an anxiety attack over applying early decision to a college. I talked on the phone with her for thirty minutes, which was short time to be able to convince me of my full potential. Yes, I had the grades, but Alyssa boosted my confidence. In that thirty minutes Alyssa helped me realize that a 7% acceptance rate is not something to be scared of, but something to embrace. It only took her thirty minutes to make me realize that I wanted to go to Columbia University. She helped me forget my now seemingly irrational fear of failing and instead recognize the possibility of my succeeding when most others would not even try. So when I checked my phone on December 11th at 5:00 p.m., and read the word “Congratulations”, my first call was to my dad but my second call was to Alyssa Petrone. I knew that without Alyssa not only would I not have been accepted, but I also would not have even applied. She is one of the most positive influences I’ve ever had in my life and I am truly grateful to have Alyssa as my life advisor and friend.

Mrs Petrone was the single most helpful person in preparing to apply for college. Her deep understanding of the SAT translated clearly into strong tutoring services that made an intimidating test become approachable. By exam day, I felt fully prepared and in control, and I believe the confidence I gained regarding the SAT was the best output of our sessions. Once the testing was completed, Mrs. Petrone became even more helpful, as she offered valuable assistance in editing my college essays. She helped me turn decent first drafts into solid pieces that I was proud to submit. It doesn’t seem like one can convey much in 500 words, but I feel that with Mrs. Petrone’s guidance I was able to put my passions and personality to paper for admissions officers to read. Besides her consistent academic assistance, Mrs. Petrone was also a friendly and kind-hearted person who calmly led me through the stressful college process. When it was finally time to receive my college acceptances, I couldn’t wait to share the good news with her. I am so thankful for Mrs. Petrone’s endless support.

Alyssa is a teacher who understands the SAT process in every way possible. Beyond teaching me basic techniques to manage my time and work through problems, she taught me to understand the test itself in a way that reading a review book never could. This understanding allowed me to-- believe it or not-- enjoy the verbal section of the SAT and increase my reading score by 100 points. But perhaps above all else she understands how stressful the whole SAT experience can be and manages to instruct without overwhelming her students. Alyssa's total awareness of the SAT process was invaluable and I cannot recommend her more strongly.

Alyssa tutored our son David for both the SAT and the ACT and also helped him with his college essays. She did a fantastic job with him on the tutoring, and he was extremely thrilled with his scores on both tests. At the outset she gave him a few simple strategies that helped to improve his scores right away. And then over the course of the tutoring we saw his scores continue to improve. But Alyssa was more than just a tutor, she was his cheerleader and motivator. Preparing for the SAT and ACT can be tough and stressful on a high school kid. But David always looked forward to his sessions with Alyssa and left each session with increased confidence. Alyssa’s work with David on his college essays was also great. Picking topics to write about is not easy, and Alyssa helped David brainstorm. Even though David is a very good writer, Alyssa was able to help him significantly improve the final product. We were extremely happy with Alyssa on both the tutoring and college essay assistance and highly recommend her.

Alyssa prepared both my sons for the SAT. She demystified the test for them, taught them key strategies to use, and, most of all, encouraged them to think they could do well, which they did. She developed a relationship with them that made them trust her and trust the process. They liked her and felt like she was on their side, which increased their confidence and made it far easier for them to do the work. Alyssa gave them the tools and did it in a way that they actually used them. We couldn't have been happier with the process or the result.

After going to SAT tutoring with Mrs. Petrone my scores went up a few hundred points. The techniques she taught helped me stay focused and calm as I took the SAT's and ACT's. In addition to SAT tutoring, Mrs. Petrone helped me write college essays. She helped with the structure of the essay, ideas, and grammar. I would say the essays I wrote with Mrs. Petrone were some of the best I've written. I was even complimented on my essay from someone in a college admissions office. Besides the fact that Mrs. Petrone is a great and knowledgeable tutor she is extremely personable. She talked to me and calmed me down when I was worried about college applications. She helped me with college questions outside of SAT's and ACT's. She is so kind and has helped ease the college process greatly.

I could see my scores in the reading and writing sections of the SAT I improve after only a few sessions of tutoring with Mrs. Petrone.  She offered me many helpful tips and techniques that showed me how to approach the various types of multiple-choice questions in each section.  Right away, I was amazed at how much easier it was for me to determine the correct answer.  Mrs. Petrone taught me how to use the time allotted for each section most effectively.  She prepared me for the test by administering timed sections of multiple-choice questions very frequently.  With all of this practice, I felt confident sitting for both my SAT I and SAT II tests.  I have also found that I am able to apply the skills that Mrs. Petrone taught me to multiple-choice tests that I take in classes at school.  Through my tutoring sessions with Mrs. Petrone, I saw my approach to the test, my confidence and my scores improve significantly.

Alyssa was a superb SAT tutor for all three of my children.  She quickly and accurately "tuned in" to each of my children's learning styles and successfully built their self-confidence as they worked toward test day.  All three children found Alyssa to be patient and supportive as she expertly guided them through the strategies of the SAT course work.  She is extremely reliable and maintained her schedule, which was very much appreciated by this busy family.  Alyssa related well to the children and she provided them with great positive motivation... and all their scores improved after working with her.  Alyssa, thank you for your support over the last five years!

Working with Alyssa Petrone was more than just an SAT preparatory course, it was the development of a meaningful relationship where someone else's sincere investment in my success was a powerful motivating force. Alyssa possesses the techniques and skills to help any student prepare for the SAT, but it is her personal conviction in, and dedication to, each of her students' success that makes working with her an invaluable experience. She has the perspicacity to tailor her knowledge to an individual student's needs, facilitating a degree of communication and understanding that one cannot find in large group prep programs. Her overwhelming warmth and caring personality take the stress out of the SAT, and when you finally go to take your test, you are not nervous or jittery, but rather calm and confident in your abilities. If not for my work with Alyssa, I would not be sitting where I am today.

Alyssa Petrone's SAT, SAT II Literature and ACT prep were invaluable.  Her instructions and insights helped me raise my scores significantly compared to my PSAT and practice exams.  Her overall strategies were comprehensive and unique.  Being a student athlete makes it sometimes hard to hone in on the detail that is required to excel in standardized testing.  Alyssa focused me in on critical details that allowed me to perform well with less time than if I had struggled through the material on my own.  Her easy-going style made me feel comfortable and I trusted her completely in her expert guidance.  Alyssa is an excellent teacher and always supported me in a very positive manner.  I could not have asked for a better tutor or a better outcome. I only took the SATs once and received a 2230. Away from the overall testing strategies, she also taught me some shortcuts that made my overall effort highly successful.  If anyone is taking a standardized test with language, literature, writing etc. you cannot find anyone better than Alyssa Petrone.

I could not have asked for a better experience for SAT tutoring.  Mrs. Petrone pushed me to achieve the best results I could.  We worked hard yet she was always concerned about how my life was going outside of the hectic SAT world.  I was always excited to be going to her house, not dreading my next tutoring session.  She made SAT preparation something to look forward to.  Mrs. Petrone taught me tricks to each section and focused on the specific problems I constantly got wrong.  Without her I doubt I would have been able to achieve what I did.

Alyssa tutored three of my children for the English SAT.  There are not enough adjectives to describe the positive experience each had.  The primary outcome is to see the scores increase, which they did significantly for my kids, but equally important was that each child believed in themselves and their abilities.  This was due to Alyssa and her continued positive reinforcement.  She brings out the best in each and every child, teaching and encouraging and is truly interested in their success. Additionally, my children tapped Alyssa further for guidance in writing their college essays.  The same positive approach, mentoring and insight inspired my children to write great essays.  Their writing has continued to stand out and I am confident that Alyssa was a pivotal force. I have recommended Alyssa to everyone who asks for a SAT tutor.  Thank you from all of us.

Over the years, Alyssa helped prepare me for a number of standardized tests.  First, she worked with me on raising my score on the Verbal section of the SAT.  In only a matter of months, I raised my Verbal score from the PSAT to the SAT by over 100 points.  Next, I looked to her for tutoring on the SAT II Writing test, on which she helped me to score over a 700.  Years later, after graduating from college and looking to apply to graduate schools, I called up Alyssa for GRE tutoring.  Thanks to her help, I’m now pursuing my Master’s at my top choice graduate school.

I would recommend Alyssa to anyone willing to work hard.  No matter your proficiency level, she knows how to cater to your abilities and goals.  Her techniques don’t revolve around teaching test content but step-by-step procedures for successfully eliminating wrong answers and knowing how to choose the right ones.  I’m so grateful for her expertise, kindness, humor, and patience!  Thanks, Alyssa!

How I feel about Mrs. Petrone’s tutoring and standardized test preparation is almost indescribable.  When I first began my summer prepping for the GRE, I was confused and intimated by the daunting task that lay ahead.  Of course, Mrs. Petrone constantly reassured me that I would eventually obtain the strategies needed to master this complex test.  Without her confidence and belief in me, I would not have achieved the score I did.  Her countless wholehearted efforts to help me improve after every tutoring session were utterly remarkable and inspiring.  I felt as though she cared about my studies as if I was a part of her family.  She exhibited a genuine concern for my future that I KNOW I could have NEVER found elsewhere.  Her gregarious and vivacious personality made attending her sessions an absolute pleasure.  Mrs. Petrone’s ability to empathize with her students is a profoundly unique and admirable trait.  When I returned to James Madison University in Virginia for senior year, I felt as if Mrs. Petrone came with me.  She spent countless hours emailing me back and forth, meticulously proofreading my essays for my upcoming graduate school applications.  She never ceased to provide me with the best suggestions and advice possible.  Never once did she fail me.  Her prompt responses in my time of need provided immense stability in such a trying timein my life.  Recently, I have been admitted to the graduate school at New York University with a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  Without Mrs. Petrone’s vast knowledge and passion for aiding her students, this would not have been possible.  I am lucky to have found her services and feel honored to have written this testimonial.

Growing up I always struggled with taking standardized tests. When it came time to take the SAT exam Alyssa Petrone came to the rescue! We had intensive teaching sessions once a week where she taught me strategic test-taking skills and studying skills. After all the hard work and preparation, I ended up doing really well on my SAT exam and getting into the college of my choice. Just when I thought my standardized test taking days were over, I came to learn that the GRE exam was required for the graduate program that I was seeking admission to. Once again, Alyssa came to the rescue! We resumed our sessions in test-taking strategies and study skills. Along with preparing for the GRE, Alyssa also taught me essay writing skills for my admissions essays. I felt extremely comfortable working with Alyssa and feel that she really helped boost my confidence in regards to these exams.

Going into my junior year, the SAT was definitely a major stressor for both me and my parents. Multiple people in the community recommended that I see Mrs. Petrone for help with the reading and writing portions of the test.  I was so glad that I did because from the very first session Mrs. Petrone taught me how to approach the test in a very formulated manner, which not only put my nerves at ease, but also produced results that made me and my parents feel confident that I was making good progress. I always looked forward to our Monday sessions, and even after our sessions ended and I was no longer her student, she continued to keep in contact with me and to provide me with help and support on my second attempt at the test. I never expected such dedication from a tutor, and to this day I am so thankful that Mrs. Petrone invested so much into helping me succeed on the SAT. My final score on the test was a 2150, and because of the help I received from my tutoring sessions I can apply confidently, as a legitimate applicant to prestigious schools I have always hoped to be eligible for.

Mrs. Petrone’s approach to tutoring is matched by no one.  She shapes the tutoring sessions around your needs and really focusing on strengthening your weaknesses and perfecting your strengths. Particularly for me, my weakness was the reading section of the ACT. Mrs. Petrone and I set a goal for my score and we worked hard to achieve it. She gave me numerous tests and pointers to help me along the way. In the end, I was able to bring my reading score from a 27 to a 33. I would not recommend any other tutor.

Trying to wrap my head around the idea of college was an impossible task that Mrs. Petrone helped me conquer, headfirst.  Right away, Mrs Petrone and I formed a meaningful relationship.  With her SAT preparatory course, I was able to bring each of my verbal sections up 100 points.  She taught me tricks and techniques to better understand grammar as well as analyze a reading passage thoroughly in quick timing.  Furthermore, she even helped me with my college applications, specifically, my essay, which was some of my best writing.  One day, I even went to her to help me with an English essay completely unrelated to SAT or colleges, and she was more than happy to help.  If it wasn’t for Mrs Petrone and her compassionate and embracing personality, I know I would have not been as excited as I was to go to her SAT class every week.  Thanks to her, I have worked and earned a future for myself that I am more than proud of.  She helped me realize hard work and dedication will get you exactly where you want to be in life.  Mrs. Petrone was one of the first people I called to give her my good news of acceptance to my dream school and there is truly no one better than she.

Both of our children took SAT and ACT preparation along with assistance with writing their college essays from Alyssa. Toby and Hannah were accepted at their first choice colleges. The highlights of their test results include 2200 SAT scores, a 760 on Reading, a 750 on English, a perfect SAT essay score of 12, a perfect ACT English score of 36 and an ACT Reading score of 34. More and more, the “voice” of a college applicant has become as important as their standardized test scores. (Their “voice” is their resume including academics, volunteer work, jobs, hobbies and the glue that pulls the story together, their essays). Alyssa helped Toby and Hannah on multiple essays. This included both their college application and scholarship essays. Both children won multiple 4-year corporate scholarships. We have strongly recommended Alyssa to many families. All of the families have agreed with us that she is great-Alyssa’s tutoring and essay skills were the best and their children loved working with her. The college search process is stressful on multiple fronts. Alyssa eliminated a number of our potential worries.

Klaudia

Klaudia at White Board

I have been working with Klaudia for 2 years for both SAT tutoring and math tutoring in Algebra 2 and Pre-Calc. Klaudia is patient and kind and never makes you feel like you can’t learn even the hardest concepts. I have become so much more confident with math over the past two years both in the classroom and in my tutoring sessions. I feel prepared for college but I will not hesitate scheduling sessions during college if I feel like I need help.

Our son had taken the ACT as a Junior and although his composite was 33 he was looking to improve his STEM scores. Klaudia had come highly recommended. They worked together a little over a month the summer before his Senior year.  Our son really enjoyed working with Klaudia. She had a plan from the outset and knew exactly what was required for him to achieve his goals. He particularly liked that she didn’t overburden him with homework- assigning just what was necessary - so he could still enjoy summer break.  He also appreciated that she was very flexible with scheduling around his constantly changing sport’s commitments. He retook the test in July before Senior year and his STEM scores improved substantially- even more than he had hoped, resulting in a 35 composite. We couldn’t be happier! Thank you Klaudia!

Our family has been working with Klaudia since our eldest son Alexander was in 6th grade, starting with math tutoring and then spending several years on SAT preparation.  Alexander worked with Klaudia on SAT prep from beginning to end, and we enthusiastically recommend her to any student looking to improve their math scores.  Klaudia did a great job of getting to know Alexander, both his strengths and where he needed improvement, and she worked closely with Alexander to ready him.  Klaudia closely reviewed his performance on practice tests and actual exams, and her advice throughout was excellent.  Alexander’s SAT scores were evidence of his hard work, but also of Klaudia’s attentive and expert preparation and guidance.  Her efforts gave our son confidence and put him in the position to excel.  Not surprisingly, we have turned to Klaudia for our youngest son’s SAT prep.  Put simply, Klaudia is the best.

I’ve been with Klaudia since I was in sixth grade and it has been so rewarding being able to grow with her help and tutoring. I had previously struggled a lot with math and the concept of embracing it as a whole, but after 6 years of getting to know me and adapting to my needs and goals, she’s made me confident in my own abilities. We worked on everything from fractions to calculus with lots of SAT prep in between and I got a wide variety of knowledge with her guidance. I truly wouldn’t be where I am now without her.

Klaudia’s math tutoring was invaluable. She tutored my son, Ross, for the SAT, ACT and the two Math Subject Tests (Levels I and II). What made me comfortable with Klaudia is that she knew exactly what to cover for the different tests. We’ve used other math tutors for my daughter and for Ross, but Klaudia is the first tutor to clearly differentiate between the different exams and know the specific math concepts covered in each. She gave exact timelines and goals for each test and knew how many sessions my son would need for each after meeting with him a couple of times. Her detailed schedules, progress reports, and goals for each test made me feel like our son was in good hands. Initially, she gave a goal of 85% accuracy for timed math problems (one minute per problem). My son exceeded that goal and is currently at 98% and we were amazed with his math score on his first SAT test. But, more important than his scores...Ross never complains about going to his tutoring sessions. He enjoys them and is 100% committed to the process because he is seeing such positive results."

Having Klaudia tutor me in math was a great experience. She challenged me each week by setting specific goals, which I liked. She didn’t bombard me with too much homework. It was completely manageable. Klaudia’s techniques and hard work helped increase my math skills, and more importantly, my overall confidence going into the tests,

Klaudia has been working with my twin boys, who are seniors at Glen Rock High School, for almost two years now. They worked with Klaudia on both SAT preparation and with challenging Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, and Chemistry topics. The success that my boys have had in math and science since they began working with Klaudia is quite remarkable. One of my son's math SAT score went to a 760 in a very short time, and he achieved an 800 on his Subject Test, Level II Math. Klaudia is not only well-versed in the most effective test-taking strategies, but she is also highly mathematically and scientifically gifted. Her expertise in these subject matters and in SAT/ACT and Subject Test preparation is impressive. My other son is not as comfortable in math and science and needed help with his college prep courses. He too has improved his grades in his chemistry, Algebra II and Pre-Calc./Trig classes BECAUSE he works with Klaudia to prepare for tests and quizzes. Finally and equally important is Klaudia’s demeanor and her true dedication to her students. My boys feel so comfortable working with her, and she motivates them to study harder and helps them gain the confidence they need to do well. She also works tirelessly to accommodate the most challenging of student schedules, and she is very clear and communicative with me about schedule and the boys’ progress. I would recommend Klaudia to any student and parent looking for an effective, approachable, and accommodating tutor. She’s simply the best!

We had the great fortune to meet Klaudia when we needed a math tutor for our daughter, who was in 9th grade at the time. She enjoyed working with Klaudia, who is kind, smart, and very engaging and had our daughter look forward to their sessions. Samantha’s grades improved significantly and she continued to work successfully with Klaudia through 10th grade math. Her work with Klaudia transitioned seamlessly to SAT math prep over which time her score increased by 160 points. We are indebted to Klaudia for her tireless and very productive efforts; she is responsible for providing our daughter with many more opportunities as she heads into her college search!

I was ready to make a career change and knew I needed to do well on the GRE to get into a program in which I had no experience. Klaudia helped me study for my GREs with personally tailored lessons, one-on-one sessions and even gave me the flexibility while I was working to tutor me remotely. She boosted my confidence, kept me engaged and truly helped me to understand the material. Thanks to Klaudia, I was able to get into my top choice of graduate programs and am currently pursuing dual master's degrees at Columbia University in the city of New York.

Klaudia tutored my daughter Dylan for the ACT in Science and Math. My daughter loved her. She was extremely knowledgeable about the subject and really helped her a lot. In just two months of tutoring, her scored went up significantly. She got a perfect score in Science and a 33 in Math!  Couldn't have ask for anything better and I cannot wait to use Klaudia and TTTP for my son’s tutoring.

Private tutoring with Klaudia not only immensely helped me out in preparation for the SATs, but also provided me with a comfortable learning environment. She showed me the maneuvers and tricks to this standardized test, supplementing her great simplification of the problems for me with her continuous encouragement. My confidence increased every time I met with Klaudia as my scores increased and I got exposed to different types of questions. Every session started with how my college process was going or new events in my life which always established a great atmosphere. Klaudia added an online SAT program to practice problems in addition to the book, which helped me increase my score almost immediately as this program was designed to practice on your personal weaknesses. Overall, it was a very beneficial experience with Klaudia which reflected not only in my SAT scores, but in my appreciation for all of the help and support she provided me with.

Parents are well aware of the ultra-competitive world of admissions to our country’s top universities. Standardized test scores are the one common denominator reviewed by our nation’s best colleges. Performance at a high level can make the difference between admission and a second choice. The knowledge and diligence displayed by Klaudia in preparing our son Michael for the Math SATs led to his near perfect scores and were a significant edge in the admission process. Michael’s appointment to the United States Military Academy – West Point could not have happened without the assistance of many people. Klaudia is at the top of this list and has our highest recommendation.

When it came time for our son, Ethan, to work on his standardized testing, Klaudia was the obvious choice.  Ethan is a natural math student and is considering studying math in college. He reached every math milestone he set for himself with Klaudia’s help. He ended up taking both math SAT subject tests and with Klaudia’s positive, well designed tutoring sessions, including realistic practice tests, he achieved the highest level of scores for which he was aiming. Our family could not be more grateful to Klaudia and her tutoring services. We recommend her with the highest enthusiasm and she is worth every penny! Thank you Klaudia!!

I cannot say enough positive things about Klaudia! Klaudia worked with my son as a math and ACT tutor for well over a year, during his sophomore and junior years.  She first helped him tackle his struggle with math and later worked with him on ACT prep. Through it all, Klaudia was calm, steady and supportive, giving Adam the confidence he needed to know that he could succeed. With Klaudia’s help my son achieved his goal for the ACT and the positive effects he is now enjoying from his success are visible. We are thrilled with Klaudia’s services and highly recommend her.

Alyssa Petrone tutored my daughter starting in the summer before her junior year through the fall of her senior year. Alyssa challenged her week to week, continuously assessed her progress and course-corrected when she felt that a different approach was needed to get her “over the hump”. Alyssa was more than a tutor, she was a coach and did a good job really listening to my daughter to understand how to give her a good perspective on the college process and to instill in her the confidence she needed to get the best results possible for her. Klaudia tutored my daughter for only a few math sessions in the fall of her senior year. She recognized quickly that my daughter had what it took to do well on the math SAT’s and just needed a little more focus, attention to detail and confidence. In just a few helpful and engaging sessions, she was able to help my daughter get her best of 3 math SAT scores. We wish we had found Klaudia earlier in the process!

Standardized tests are one of the most stressful aspects of applying to college, as in the moment it feels as though one score will define your entire academic career. Working with Klaudia and Alyssa made a seemingly insurmountable task feel manageable. As team, they charted my improvement with the SAT as a whole while they targeted their specific subjects with me. I constantly encouraged and supported throughout the entire process. Even a year later, both Klaudia and Alyssa reached out to me to see which schools I was deciding between and what my ultimate decision was. I found the entire experience one of the most positive aspects of the college application process, and their tutelage was invaluable in getting to my current position today.

With the help of Top Tier Test Prep, I was able to reach my target SAT score. The guidance that I received from them not only improved my test-taking abilities, but also changed my attitude towards testing in general. I realized that the challenge of doing well on tests should not be feared, but instead embraced. They helped motivate me to work hard and put in the effort required to reach my goal. Ultimately, their helpful strategies combined with continuous encouragement helped me boost my score to over 2300 with a perfect score on both the math and writing sections.

Klaudia and Alyssa helped me conquer the daunting process of taking the SATs and ACTs. These tests caused me a lot of stress because they determine the amount of options I have in the college process. Alyssa and Klaudia do not cause any more stress but instead gave me confidence through repetition and reassurance in my abilities. They did this by pointing out my weaknesses and provided advice in how to become better in these areas.

I began working with Alyssa my sophomore year on my writing skills. She helped edit essays for my English class and also provided guidance for my term paper. I was able to verbalize my ideas which allowed me to further analyze the topic and come up with a more in depth research paper.  While working with Alyssa on preparing for the SATs and ACTs I struggled the most in the writing. We spent more time on the writing sections and learning the specific curriculum that gave me the most trouble. The reading part was not as difficult for me so we spent less time on it but we made sure that I could consistently get a good score on it so on the day of the test I would not be surprised.  I was able to bring my reading and writing scores up significantly from when I first started with Alyssa.

Klaudia was most helpful in refining my math skills and providing me with techniques for taking the standardized tests. We would work together on questions that I did not understand or got wrong. She reassured me on my knowledge and taught me how to master problem solving skills. Together with Alyssa, she made the test preparation process a positive and enjoyable experience.

Top Tier Test Prep tutoring sessions are structured with the elite, high performing student in mind. The sessions focus on the fundamentals in the beginning which was crucial for me since I had not covered any of the material since my undergraduate studies. Each lesson focuses on building a deeper understanding of these concepts and challenging students with more difficult material. Klaudia and Alyssa are masters at introducing alternative ways of thinking about a problem and making students aware of the different ways one can attach a GMAT verbal or quantitative problem. They are clearly the best in their field and have a knowledge of the GMAT and the test taking process that is unmatched. Their expertise and individualized program for my studies helped me feel calm about the intensity of the material and learn to master each skill step by step while gaining a conceptual understanding of each subject. Thanks to TTTP, I will be applying to some of the most selective and elite universities in the country for my MBA degree.

I’m so glad I was connected with Klaudia and Alyssa. They each undoubtedly played positive and pivotal roles in my graduate school application process. I had begun studying for the GRE and was confused by the wealth of conflicting information available online. Klaudia and Alyssa’s knowledge of the exam far exceeded my expectations and, I believe, greatly contributed to my scores (and lessened anxiety beforehand). They were incredibly patient with me as I worked to re-learn some basic skills - much of which I hadn’t seen since high school! I’m so grateful for their knowledge and time. I would highly suggest their guidance if you’re looking for a strong team to aid in GRE preparation.
